We are proud to present you a product series called ARCADIAN SECRET. This line of organic essential oil
products consists of Oregano, Melissa, Sage, Lavender, Rosemary as standalone essential oils, but also
bundled with extra virgin olive oil and honey. Now we focus on Oregano, while preparing day and night
for our next additions!
Our organic Oregano
The Alexpant organic oregano is of the subsp. hirtum, commonly known as Greek oregano. Our plants are perennial with a height of approximately 60 cm and white spiky flower stalks. In the Mainalo mountain we have a double flowering season, one in late July and a milder flowering season in early November. Pollination of flowers is done by bees and butterflies who are abundant in the area. The biological cultivation of our oregano and the mountain water we use for irrigation have helped the area ecosystem flourish containing eagles, wild bores, rabbits, and other wildlife. We are immensely proud of this achievement.
Our organic Melissa officinalis
In May of this year (2022) we will be planting several hectares of Melissa Officinalis. Melissa is a plant that through distillation produces essential oil and floral water, which is used as flavoring, and in perfumery. This plant will help the biodiversity of our plantation ecosystem as it attracts honeybees, which will re-generate the whole valley. We are very much looking forward to the crown jewel of our essential oils and floral waters!
Our organic Sage (Salvia officinalis)
This year we will also plant Sage. Sage is a plant that “loves” the microclimate of our plantations and makes its distinct presence visible wherever it can, so we decided to provide an exclusive area in our farm where it can flourish. We love the essential oil of Sage, but also its floral water and the wonderful tea that our team drinks over the cold mountain winters.
Our organic Lavender & Rosemary
At the area of our plantation which we call “Petra (Rock), the ancient farm” we are growing lavender and rosemary. This is next to our forest garden, looking at the archeological place of Petra (don’t confuse it with Jordan). The quantities of essential oil from lavender and rosemary are small, and we cultivate them for our exclusive “bundle Arcadian Secret” products we are preparing.
